BroadBit demonstrates the high safety of its Gen 1 cells
The following demonstration shows that our battery cells safely withstand even short circuit condition. This safety performance is particularly impressive considering that these are high-power battery cells, which deliver 80% of their nominal capacity even at 5C discharge rate (i.e. during 12 minute discharge from 100% to 0%). High-power battery cells have low internal resistance, and therefore a short-circuit condition generates a large amount of internal heating. A quantitative assessment of our battery’s safety performance will be undertaken and reported in the coming months.
